Fetch’s products are built to solve the two problems that have held wave energy back— Cost and Survivability.
Our products:
Deliver high power output for a compact size
Our patent-pending Direct Power Take-Off generator captures both the heave and surge of wave motion. That means our device captures more of the potential energy from the waves. Our innovation in electronics also means we keep more of that power generated to convert into electricity, meaning our devices can be made smaller for higher output than anything seen in wave power so far.
Better for the environment
Platform based, seabed impact is minimal from a deployment perspective. Our devices are quiet by design with minimal mechanical noise means minimal acoustic disturbance to marine life. Reduced inherent risk to wildlife, with the inlet design optimised to minimise biofouling and prevent marine growth from affecting performance.
Work in a wide range of conditions
Our core generator technology works across a range of wave heights. The same architecture that powers our 5kW device will be scaled to larger devices that are designed for performance and durability in wave heights up to 10 metres.
Built to keep working
A single moving part captures wave motion in two directions at once, so each device delivers more power from a smaller footprint, with fewer parts that can break. Power generation is distributed across the device with no single point of failure, meaning it can continue operating even if one part of the generator fails.
Designed for simple maintenance
Our devices are modular by design. If an individual generator or component needs servicing or replacing, it can be removed and swapped without replacing the entire device. This reduces maintenance time, cost and downtime.
Built to scale
The same core generator technology runs a single 5kW unit or a 250kW+ macro array, and those arrays can themselves be combined into larger installations or micro-grids.
